CyberInstaller Studio - 7. Step 3: "My Documents"

In this step you can modify the documentation files of the package: license and readme file two (one to be displayed before and after the installation).

The inscription at the top right indicates the number of files entered and the weight, in bytes, of the documentation for the current packet.

Note: The default values of these parameters (and others) may be amended by the "Options" window via the tab "Paths/File", so that you are already set up for each new project. In this way, indeed, for any opening CyberInstaller Studio, or whenever you create a new package, will be re-used their own preferred settings without having to manually reset every time.

License application

The first field at the top lets you insert the name of a text file (.txt, full path) to be used as a license. The license should contain legal information about the usage of software, that is what allows the end user and what limits are imposed. During the installation process you must agree to the terms of the license, otherwise the process Setup can not continue.

Notes from view before the installation

The second field allows you to insert a text file (.txt, full path) to appear before the installation process. These notes are often used to list the characteristics of the software and minimum hardware requirements needed for its proper use. Other typical uses are the general description of the software and any precautions to take before you begin to use it.

Notes from view after installation

The third and last field allows you to insert a text file (.txt, full path) to be displayed after the installation process. These notes are often used to show the user a brief tutorial on using the software or additional notes on possible actions to be taken for its proper use. Another typical use is to display information about the author of the software, useful for the user to be able to contact.

Note: The use of this file is at the discretion of those who create the installation package and uses described are considered simple examples.

Next to each field you can use the "Browse ..." (to open the Open window that allows you to select the file you want) and the button "Show" to open Notepad (or any other text editor specified in the Options window, Routes - Accessories - Notepad) that displays the text file included. This way you can make changes to the file, save it and have it updated, ready to be inserted into the installation package.

If you do not want to put a certain file is enough to leave it blank.
Eg: To enter the license not be left blank "License Application", not to include the release notes left blank "Note that display first."

Note: If a file that does not exist the corresponding field will be automatically emptied.
