CyberInstaller Studio - 2. Main Window

CyberInstaller Studio (CIStudio) is the software used to create the installation packages for CyberInstaller, which allows, through a convenient graphical interface to prepare the necessary folder structure and the modification of the installation script based on a predetermined level, by which to define the installation mode. All this in a completely automatic and assisted.
Furthermore CyberInstaller Studio gives the possibility to transform the package created in a self-extracting compressed executable file. This gives the opportunity to distribute your application with one file and the user will not have to do is execute this file to launch the unpacking of the package and begin installing it, all in a transparent manner and without risk.

CyberInstaller Studio's main window is divided mainly initiated once in 8 parts: the title bar, the menu in the toolbar, the panel with the steps to create the panel with the activities, the current step, the title of current step, the panel with the analysis of the packet in real time and the panel with the help fast.

We analyze the interface in detail:

1. Title bar. It's divided into 3 parts: the title of the window, possibly loaded project and the version of CyberInstaller Studio, and the control buttons. It's possible move the window, if not maximized, dragging the title bar, the window title or the version (the term means the drag operation, click with the left mouse button on the item and, holding it down, move the pointer to the new area and, once you reach the desired point, release the left mouse button). The control buttons are 3: the first from the left minimizes the window, the second to maximize or restore it to normal size, and the last to close CyberInstaller Studio.


2. Menu and toolbar. The menu provides access to all features offered by CyberInstaller Studio. The toolbar provides quick access to the most useful and of widespread use. Insisting the mouse pointer over each button on the toolbar will display a description of the button. For even faster access to the functions of the menu, you can use keyboard shortcuts, that particular combinations of keys that when pressed will activate the voice (the appropriate combination for each entry is written in the menu next to the entry).

3. Passi package creation. List the steps needed to get to the creation of the installation package. The selected item is displayed at the current step in the right panel and thereby selecting an item will skip directly to the corresponding step, which will be immediately displayed in the right pane. The steps are 19 and should be all paths before reaching the completion of a package, although many options are sufficient defaults. As a packet is created, or by loading a previously saved packet, the steps will also include additional information such as number of items inserted or size in bytes of the elements for the corresponding step. It's a panel to keep an eye on constantly, both to get an idea of where you are creating the package, both for constant idea of how that was created (and its final size).

4. Current step. Step currently selected in the left pane. This is the main work area and contains all the options and fields for the selected step. Under the changes made, a description of the pass in the left pane will be updated accordingly.

5. Name current step. Description of the current step. It's important to always know in what context is the package you are currently doing. To the right is the button with the question, which if clicked will open the online manual to the page on the pitch selected.

6. Activities current step. Are the most common tasks for the current step is displayed, for this vary depending on the selected step. A little further down, also in this panel, there are the "general activities project," referring to those operations that apply to managing the whole project (New Project, Open, Save, Analyze, ...). It ' You can hide this panel at any time via the menu View, or by hitting <CTRL-K>, or using the button on the "X" in the top right of this same panel. To get it back, click on View-active panel or press still <CTR-K>.

7. Analysis package in real time. This pane displays all the records (problems, warnings, information) related to the current project, updated in real time (ie any significant change in the project). This panel is very useful since it allows, with a quick glance to know if there are mistakes in the construction of the package, or if any problems that may be characterized be a source of errors when installing the package. It's possible hide this panel at any time via the menu View, or by hitting <CTRL-J>, or using the button on the "X" in the top right of this same panel. To make it reappear, click on View Panel or press-analysis still <CTR-J>.

8. Help rapid current step. A brief description of the current step, with the goal that aims, how to use and quick overview of the options. They are also often contain useful tips to achieve specific outcomes not always obvious. It's always good to keep an eye on this help, especially at the beginning, when you do not thoroughly familiar with CyberInstaller Studio. It's possible hide this panel at any time via the menu View, or pressing <CTRL-H>, or using the button on the "X" in the top right of this same panel.
